The Opportunity:
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day leadership of the hotel, ensuring all departments operate seamlessly while maintaining the highest standards of guest service, operational efficiency and commercial performance.
You will work collaboratively across all departments, leading by example to create an exceptional guest experience while supporting revenue growth, operational excellence and staff development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring exceptional standards across all departments
- Provide visible leadership, coaching and support to department managers, fostering a high-performing, guest-focused culture while motivating and developing teams to achieve operational excellence.
- Support the General Manager in delivering the hotel's strategic and commercial objectives and assume full responsibility for the hotel in their absence, ensuring adequate Duty Management coverage at all times.
- Work closely with the Sales & Events team to ensure the accurate handover of event details and the flawless operational execution of all events.
- Direct the day-to-day operation of all hotel areas, ensuring consistently high standards of quality, cleanliness, customer service, maintenance, security and presentation.
- Monitor occupancy, ADR and RevPAR performance in conjunction with the Revenue and Sales teams, implementing effective yield strategies to maximise revenue, profitability and overall hotel performance.
- Ensure hotel availability and inventory are accurately maintained across all systems to maximise revenue opportunities.
- Manage labour costs, operational budgets and cost controls in line with forecasted business levels, with particular focus on Food & Beverage and Front Office.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability and continuous improvement where ideas are encouraged, shared and implemented.
- Ensure quality assurance systems, standard operating procedures and hotel standards are documented,
- implemented, regularly reviewed and continuously improved to meet evolving guest expectations.
The Successful Candidate Will Possess
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, labour costs and operational performance.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate, coach and develop high-performing teams.
- A hands-on management style with excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- A strong focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence.
- Flexibility, professionalism and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
