We are currently recruiting for a Sales Applications Engineer to join our Sales Division on a full-time, permanent basis at our Head Office in Dublin 15.
The successful candidate will act as the technical link between our customers and internal engineering teams, supporting the design and development of automated machine concepts tailored to customer requirements. The role involves assessing customer needs, developing technical solutions, preparing concept designs, identifying suitable equipment, and providing engineering support throughout the quotation and project development process.
Working closely with customers, suppliers, and internal departments, the successful candidate will help deliver innovative automation solutions while developing their career within a technical sales environment.
Principal Accountabilities
- Support the Sales Team by developing technical solutions and automated machine concepts based on customer requirements.
- Assess customer applications and translate technical requirements into practical engineering solutions.
- Assist in the design and development of machine concepts using SolidWorks.
- Identify and specify suitable mechanical and automation components to develop accurate technical proposals and pricing.
- Prepare technical quotations, cost estimates, and sales documentation.
- Work closely with customers to understand application requirements and provide technical guidance on proposed solutions.
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain technical information, equipment specifications, pricing, and lead times.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Automation, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure customer requirements are fully understood and delivered.
- Support project handover from quotation through to manufacturing and commissioning where required.
- Monitor quotation requests, customer enquiries, and project progress to ensure timely responses and successful delivery.
- Manage spare parts enquiries and technical support requests.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the ongoing development of engineering standards and technical solutions.
Ideal Candidate
- Degree, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Proficient in SolidWorks mechanical design.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design, machine concepts, manufacturing processes, and automation equipment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to engage confidently with customers and technical teams.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams).
- Previous experience in applications engineering, mechanical design, automation, manufacturing, or product development is desirable.
- An interest in developing a career within technical sales while maintaining a strong engineering focus.

Pay: €37,000.00-€55,000.00 per year
