Mater Private is seeking to recruit a Full time Permanent Ward Attendant (Night Duty). We are looking for enthusiastic, compassionate individual with an interest in a career in healthcare.
Duties and Responsibilities

Introduces patients to other staff and patients as appropriate.

Informs patient's re: "No Smoking Policy"

Orientates patients to the general ward to include Nurses Station, Clinical Nurse Manager's office, general facilities and fire exits.

Demonstrates how to use TV remote control, phone, call bell, lights and ensure all are within easy access to the patient.

Inform patient of Mass and other Religious Services times and TV channel as appropriate.

Assists patient with feeding as supervised by RGN.

Assists patient with personal care as supervised by RGN.
-
Accompanies patient's mobilizing as supervised by RGN.

Reports to Nursing Staff any complaints or other concerns expressed by patients or family

Communicates concerns regarding patients to Clinical Nurse Manager.

Directs patients, relatives and telephone enquiries to appropriate nursing personnel.

On patient discharge, accompany patient to foyer and use luggage trolley as provided.

Reports to Clinical Nurse Manager/Nurse in Charge at the beginning of each shift and when leaving the floor for meal breaks.

Ensures all stock levels are adequate as per ward guidelines.

Ensures store room, clean utility, and dirty utility rooms are kept neat and tidy.

Practice Infection Control guidelines as per hospital policies.

Responsible to attend mandatory training as provided by the hospital.

Carries out appropriate duties as may be assigned from time to time by Clinical Nurse Manager.

Reports any incidents, hazards, or near misses to the Clinical Nurse Manager/Nurse in Charge in a timely manner.

Maintains patient confidentiality at all times in accordance with hospital policy and GDPR.

Demonstrates professional conduct and works collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team.
