We have the largest Salesforce in Ireland with over 90 directly employed Sales Representatives on the road selling, servicing, and supporting our growing customer base. Our main industry sectors are: Automotive Aftermarket, Engineering & MRO, Construction, Renewables as well as Kitchens, Bedrooms & Bathrooms. Within our company's headquarters in Limerick, you will find over 70 support staff working across a variety of functions including Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Services, Purchasing, Human Resources and Logistics.
Your Mission
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for supporting the effective day-to-day running of warehouse operations, including picking, packing, dispatch, shipping, stock control, staff supervision, health and safety, and continuous improvement. The role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and a hands-on approach to ensuring orders are processed accurately, safely, and on time.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations

Supervise and support the daily running of warehouse operations, including order release, picking, packing, dispatch, goods movement, and shipping activities.

Ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with company procedures, customer requirements, and operational targets.

Monitor workflow throughout the day and adjust priorities where required to ensure urgent, customer-critical, and time-sensitive orders are processed effectively.

Maintain a strong presence on the warehouse floor to ensure work is progressing, standards are being followed, and issues are identified early.

Support the smooth coordination between picking, packing, shipping, receiving, replenishment, and other related warehouse functions.
Picking, Packing and Dispatch
-
Ensure customer orders are picked accurately and efficiently in line with agreed service levels and cut-off times.

Monitor picking performance, productivity, and accuracy, taking action where performance is below expected standards.

Ensure packing standards are maintained so that goods are packed securely, labelled correctly, and presented professionally for delivery.

Oversee dispatch and shipping activities to ensure all orders are processed correctly and handed over to the relevant carrier or transport provider on time.

Investigate and resolve issues such as short picks, missing items, incorrect quantities, damaged goods, or delayed dispatches.

Ensure urgent customer orders, key account orders, and priority deliveries are managed appropriately.
Team Supervision and Leadership

Supervise warehouse staff on a daily basis, providing clear direction, support, and guidance.

Allocate work effectively across the team based on operational priorities, workload, skills, and available resources.

Motivate the team to achieve productivity, accuracy, safety, and service-level targets.

Monitor attendance, timekeeping, productivity, and general performance, escalating issues where required.

Address performance concerns, behavioural issues, or conflicts in a fair, professional, and timely manner.

Promote a positive, respectful, and accountable working environment.

Support communication between warehouse employees, management, customer service, purchasing, logistics, and other departments.
Health, Safety and Housekeeping
-
Ensure all warehouse activities are carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and safe working procedures.

Conduct regular safety checks and proactively identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, or areas of risk.
-
Ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly where safety concerns are identified.
-
Support accident, incident, and near-miss reporting and assist with investigations where required.
-
Ensure staff are trained in safe working practices, manual handling, equipment use, and emergency procedures.
-
Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the warehouse, ensuring aisles, workstations, packing areas, dispatch areas, and storage locations remain clean, organised, and safe.
Inventory and Stock Management
-
Support effective stock control by ensuring goods are stored correctly, locations are maintained, and stock movements are accurately recorded.

Monitor and investigate stock discrepancies, damaged goods, missing items, and picking errors.

Assist with cycle counts, stock audits, stock takes, and inventory accuracy checks.

Ensure stock is handled in a way that minimises damage, loss, and unnecessary movement.

Support the management of obsolete, slow-moving, damaged, or out-of-date stock where applicable.

Work with relevant departments to resolve inventory issues that may impact customer orders or service levels.
Order Fulfilment and Customer Service
-
Ensure orders are fulfilled accurately, efficiently, and within agreed timelines.
-
Support the achievement of high service levels by reducing picking errors, dispatch delays, missed shipments, and stock-related issues.
-
Work closely with customer service, sales, purchasing, and logistics teams to resolve order queries, stock issues, or delivery concerns.
-
Escalate potential delays, operational risks, or service failures in a timely manner.
-
Ensure customer expectations are supported through reliable order processing, quality control, and clear communication.
Reporting and Performance Management
-
Prepare, maintain, and review daily and weekly operational reports, including picking productivity, order volumes, dispatch performance, accuracy, and outstanding workload.

Track key warehouse performance indicators and identify trends, recurring issues, or areas requiring improvement.
-
Use available data to support decision-making, improve efficiency, and highlight performance concerns.

Report operational issues, staffing concerns, equipment problems, and process gaps to management in a timely manner.
-
Ensure required documentation is completed accurately and retained in line with company procedures.
Systems and Warehouse Processes
-
Use warehouse management systems, SAP, scanners, shipping platforms, and other operational systems accurately and effectively.

Ensure team members follow correct system processes for picking, packing, stock movements, dispatch, and issue reporting.

Support the implementation of new systems, process changes, and warehouse improvement projects.
-
Identify gaps in current processes and recommend practical improvements to improve accuracy, speed, communication, and control.
Equipment and Machinery
-
Ensure warehouse equipment and machinery are used safely and correctly by trained employees only.
-
Monitor equipment condition and report faults, damage, or maintenance requirements promptly.
-
Assist in resolving minor equipment issues where appropriate to minimise downtime.
-
Ensure forklifts, pallet trucks, packing equipment, scanners, printers, and other warehouse tools are available, maintained, and used in line with company procedures.
Training and Development
-
Support the training and development of new and existing warehouse employees.
-
Ensure team members are trained on warehouse procedures, health and safety requirements, equipment use, picking and packing standards, and system processes.

Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to improve individual and team performance.
-
Assist in identifying training needs and support the development of a more flexible, skilled, and efficient warehouse team.
Problem-Solving and Escalation
-
Respond quickly and professionally to day-to-day operational issues, including order delays, stock discrepancies, staffing challenges, system issues, damaged goods, or equipment problems.

Investigate root causes of recurring issues and work with management to implement corrective actions.
-
Escalate serious operational, safety, service, or performance issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
-
Support a proactive approach to problem-solving rather than relying on reactive solutions.
Continuous Improvement
-
Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency, accuracy, safety, productivity, and communication.

Contribute ideas and support initiatives that improve picking, packing, dispatch, stock control, and overall workflow.

Work with other departments, including logistics, purchasing, customer service, sales, and management, to improve cross-functional processes.

Encourage team involvement in improvement activities and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Compliance and Company Standards

Ensure warehouse procedures are followed consistently and in line with company policies, audit requirements, health and safety standards, and operational controls.

Support compliance with stock control procedures, dispatch processes, quality standards, and documentation requirements.

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with employee matters, customer information, business data, or operational issues.
