Job Description:
The logistic officer is responsible for monitoring all incoming sales orders and ensure all orders are delivered on time and in full to the specified location. This will be done through liaising with the planning department.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring that all health & safety requirements and procedures are adhered to, including the correct use of specified PPE and good manufacturing practice standards.
· Ensure adherence to Company and Statutory safety requirements, ensuring all activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner to protect self and others.
· Ensure all Equipment and Facilities are treated with due respect including the maintenance of Housekeeping standards at the highest possible levels in all areas and aspects of responsibility.
· Responsibility for the shipment of all orders which will also include any shipments from our offsite warehouse
· Responsibility for organising transportation to meet the companies requirements.
· Creation of all relevant documentation required for all dispatches.
· Ensure all requirements of accredited bodies including, BRCGS / ISO / FSC / PEFC & FSAI, are adhered to as a routine part of the production process
· Manages the collection of all raw materials from external suppliers as instructed by the Planning Dept
· Liaise with the assistant planner to ensure smooth running of the department in the absence of the planning manager
· An integral part of the role is also to maintain an up to date record of all shipments to all customers from both warehouse
· Monitor and verify all incoming logistic related invoices to ensure completeness and accuracy
· Pass on all dispatch notes to the accounts department for timely invoicing
· Liaise with the warehouse to ensure pick-lists for all orders are issued and picked in a timely fashion
· Arrange collections of customer returns and ensure the appropriate communication is passed on to the relevant personnel
