Exciting opportunity to join the founding team of First Chapters Early Years Service.
First Chapters Early Years Service is currently recruiting a Crèche Cook to join our team as we prepare to open our brand-new early years service in September 2026.
First Chapters will provide full-day care for children aged 1–5 years, operating from 8:00am – 6:00pm, Monday to Friday. Fresh, nutritious meals are an important part of the care we provide, and meals will be prepared on-site daily.
We are seeking a reliable and organised individual who enjoys preparing healthy meals and understands the importance of good nutrition in early childhood.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and preparehealthy, nutritious meals and snacks for children aged 1–5 years
- Prepare meals in line with food safety and hygiene standards
- Ensure the kitchen is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and organisation
- Manage food ordering, stock rotation and storage
- Ability to maintain accurate kitchen records in line with food safety standards and Environmental Health inspection requirements
- Cater for dietary requirements, allergies and cultural food preferences
- Work alongside the management team to develop balanced menus suitable for young children
Requirements
- Experience working in a kitchen or catering environment
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to plan and prepare meals suitable for young children
- Strong organisational skills
- Food Safety / HACCP training desirable
- Garda Vetting required
