Production Kitchen Lead (Full-Time)
Location: The Menu Cakery, Halfway, Ballinhassig, Co. Cork
Pay: €16.00–€18.50 per hour (depending on experience)
The Menu Cakery is looking for an organised, proactive and passionate Production Kitchen Lead to take ownership of our day-to-day kitchen operations.
This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for producing our fresh products, planning production, maintaining quality standards and helping the kitchen operate efficiently every day.
We're looking for someone who enjoys taking responsibility, spotting opportunities to improve processes and working as part of a close-knit team.
Your responsibilities
- Plan and manage daily production to ensure products are available and fresh throughout the day.
- Prepare cakes, traybakes, sandwiches and other menu items to a consistently high standard.
- Prepare customer orders from both our website and in-store.
- Monitor stock levels and place day-to-day supplier orders.
- Maintain excellent food safety, HACCP and hygiene standards.
- Monitor product quality, consistency and presentation.
- Identify ways to improve production efficiency and reduce waste.
- Assist with training and supporting new kitchen team members.
- Work closely with the owners to continually improve kitchen systems and operations.
- Support the front of house team during busy periods by serving customers, preparing coffees or operating the till when required.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience working in a bakery, café, deli or commercial kitchen.
- Is highly organised and can prioritise effectively.
- Takes ownership of their work and uses their initiative.
- Has excellent attention to detail.
- Works calmly in a fast-paced environment.
- Understands stock control and production planning.
- Is committed to maintaining high food safety and cleanliness standards.
- Is flexible and enjoys working across different areas of the business.
- Has a positive attitude and enjoys being part of a team.
