Ballyheane Buttercups is recruiting for a part time early years practitioner to work 16 hours per week, covering planning time and assisting with lunch cover. This can be broken in to two days of working 9am to 2pm (flexibility is offered on which days), and three days of working 12pm to 2pm. To be considered for this position, candidates must have a QQI Level 5 in early years care and education.

Childcare practitioner daily duties will include:
- Ensuring health, safety and welfare of the children.
- Assisting and engaging in activities to facilitate the potential and development of each child
- Assiting in creating an environment that is both safe and exciting for the children.
- Excellent communication skills verbal and written with children, parents and staff alike.
- Assisting in following the Aistear curriculum and Siolta standards.
- Fostering an inclusive environment.
- Adhering to and maintaining all company policies and procedures
Requirements for childcare practitioner
- Candidates must hold a minimum of FETAC level 5 qualification in Early years education or equivalent.
- Practitioners must possess the ability to work well as part of a team, and to work alone if needed
- Strong work ethic and initiative
- Be flexible in their availability for work
- Have good Health and Safety awareness
- Enthusiasm for the role
- Be knowledgeable in Aistear and Siolta
- Experience an advantage
- Understand and follow TUSLA regulations
- Be naturally warm and respectful towards team members, parents and children.
