Clinical Nurse Manager II – Nurse Practice Development
Full-time (37.5 hours per week) | Permanent
Salary €62,699.00 - €79,221.00 dependent on relevant experience.
The Purpose of This Role:
The Clinical Nurse Manager 2 - Nurse Practice Development will lead and support the nursing department through education, audit, and quality improvement initiatives. The CNM2 (NPD) will promote evidence-based practice and contribute to the continuous improvement of patient care and nursing standards. The CNM 2 (NPD) will play a key role in the standardisation, implementation, education and support of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and in the embedding of the Careful Nursing Philosophy and Professional Practice Model.

Be registered, or be eligible for registration, in the General Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses kept by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI]

Teaching & Assessing qualification

Desirable Masters level education qualification
Key Responsibilities:
-
Promote and Support Evidence-Based Nursing Practice
-
Promote and embed the Careful Nursing Philosophy and Professional Practice Model and support staff to translate this philosophy into their clinical practice.

Lead and participate in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives.

Identify and assess learning needs of nursing staff and Healthcare Assistants (HCAs).

Develop, deliver, and evaluate education programmes using a blended learning approach inclusive of online learning, workshops, information sessions, and clinical skills fair.

Facilitate clinical skills training in both classroom and clinical environments.

Support preceptorship, mentorship, and staff development.

Provide professional and clinical leadership in nursing practice development within the nursing department.

Support the implementation of service improvements and innovation.

Participate in internal and external quality and accreditation processes (e.g. JCI, HIQA, NMBI and JAG).

Support data collection, analysis, and reporting of quality indicators.

Ensure compliance with national standards, policies, and guidelines
Essential Requirements:
-
R.G.N Registration
-
5 years post-registration experience in an acute hospital within the last 7 years

Suitable management experience and /or qualification

Excellent interpersonal, leadership, accountability and communication skills

Knowledge of nursing guidelines, policies, procedures and protocols.

Detailed understanding of the application of the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics for Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives Incorporating the Scope of Practice and Professional Guidance.

Broad based knowledge of current nursing research issues pertinent to practice.

Experience of clinical audit and standard setting.
