Experienced Medical Receptionist (GP Practice)

PrimumCare is a modern, patient-centred GP practice committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate healthcare. As our practice continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and professional Medical Receptionist to become the welcoming face of our team.
This is a patient-facing role, ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a busy environment, and has previous experience in a GP practice using Socrates Practice Management Software.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and visitors in a warm, friendly and professional manner.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to patient enquiries.
- Book, reschedule and cancel appointments accurately.
- Manage and maintain the GP's appointment diary efficiently.
- Check patients in for appointments and ensure patient details are up to date.
- Process patient payments, issue receipts and balance the daily till in accordance with practice procedures.
- Respond to general reception email enquiries.
- Liaise with GPs and other members of the practice team regarding appointment scheduling.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with GDPR requirements.
- Ensure the reception and waiting area remains clean, tidy and welcoming.
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a calm and professional approach, even during busy periods.
Must-Have Requirements
Applicants must:
- Have at least 1 year of experience using Socrates Practice Management Software.
- Have at least 1 year of experience working as a GP Medical Receptionist.
- Be legally entitled to work in Ireland.
- Be fluent in spoken and written English.
- Have their own reliable transport.
