We are looking for a strong, mature, responsible and highly capable person to join The Chocolate Garden Cafe as our Café Manager / Visitor Experience Lead. This is an important front-of-house leadership role, suited to someone with previous café management experience, excellent people skills and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
The successful candidate will lead and support our team in delivering a warm, professional and memorable experience for every customer, whether they are visiting our café, shopping for gifts, attending a chocolate-making event or enjoying food-service with family, friends, school groups, hen parties, tour groups or corporate visitors.
This role involves managing the daily operation of the café and customer-facing areas, maintaining high standards of service, presentation, cleanliness and efficiency, and helping to drive sales across our café, retail products, chocolate-making experiences and group/event bookings. The right person will be confident in motivating a team, identifying sales opportunities, engaging positively with customers and ensuring that every part of the customer journey reflects the quality and personality of The Chocolate Garden Cafe.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and support the front-of-house team to deliver consistently high standards of customer service.
- Manage the day-to-day running of the café, food-service and visitor experience areas.
- Ensure customers receive a warm welcome and a memorable experience.
- Drive sales through optimising café service, retail products, chocolate-making events, and upselling opportunities.
- Maintain excellent standards of presentation, hygiene, cleanliness and organisation (HACCP qualification required).
- Support stock control, product display, merchandising and replenishment to maximise sales.
- Handle customer queries, feedback and issues in a calm, professional and helpful manner.
- Coordinate with other team members to ensure smooth delivery of events, workshops and busy service periods.
- Help train, guide and develop team members to perform at their best.
- Take responsibility for maintaining a positive, productive and customer-focused working environment.
