The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications, maintains accurate patient and inventory records, and ensures compliance with all pharmacy regulations. The role requires excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and process prescriptions accurately under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Prepare and dispense medications according to legal and professional standards.
- Label and package prescription medications correctly.
- Assist customers with prescription collections and general pharmacy enquiries.
- Maintain patient medication records and ensure confidentiality.
- Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and manage inventory.
- Check expiry dates and ensure proper storage of medicines.
- Process payments and manage pharmacy till operations.
- Liaise with healthcare professionals regarding prescriptions when required.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, health and safety procedures, and standard operating procedures.
- Support the pharmacist in delivering health promotion services and patient care initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Pharmacy Technician qualification.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and dispensing procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and Microsoft Office.
