Our Security team is fundamental to the operation. They are the guardians of our venue — protecting our guests, our staff, our licence, and our reputation every single day.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Security Officer plays a critical operational role at Amusement City Dublin. You will be responsible for the safety and security of the venue, its staff, and all guests — from the moment someone approaches the door to the moment they leave.
This is not a passive role. You will be actively assessing, monitoring, and managing risk across the floor at all times, while also serving as a professional and approachable first point of contact for incoming guests.
The ideal candidate combines strong situational awareness and physical presence with the interpersonal skills to handle sensitive situations calmly, professionally, and in full compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements.

Door & Entry Management
- Control entry to the venue, conducting professional and thorough assessments of all walk-in guests.
- Exercise sound judgement in refusing entry to individuals who appear intoxicated, aggressive, underage, or otherwise unsuitable — in line with venue policy and licensing law.
- Verify age identification in accordance with Challenge 25 statutory requirements and maintain accurate refusal logs.
- Operate and monitor CCTV entry systems and intercom where applicable.
Floor Monitoring & Risk Management
- Conduct regular patrols of the gaming floor, bar, and all public areas, maintaining a visible and reassuring presence.
- Monitor customer behaviour for signs of intoxication, distress, anti-social conduct, or potential problem gambling — escalating concerns to management promptly.
- Identify and manage potential conflicts before they escalate, using de-escalation techniques as a first response.
- Remove disruptive or non-compliant customers from the premises safely, professionally, and in accordance with venue policy and the law.
Customer Records & Registrations
- Maintain clear, accurate, and up-to-date customer records to support CRM, compliance, and responsible gambling obligations.
- Flag and document notable customer behaviours or incidents for management review, contributing to ongoing customer insight and risk profiling.
- Onboard new customers at the door, capturing accurate personal details and completing membership / entry registration in line with venue procedures.
- Support the implementation of self-exclusion protocols, ensuring excluded individuals are identified and refused entry in a discreet and dignified manner.
General Security & Venue Safety
- Monitor CCTV systems and report suspicious activity, theft, or security breaches to senior management immediately.
- Conduct opening and closing security checks of all areas of the venue.
- Manage lost property in accordance with venue procedures.
- Complete detailed incident reports for any security events, accidents, or near misses occurring during your shift.
Fire Safety & Emergency Procedures
- Act as a designated fire marshal, maintaining thorough knowledge of all fire evacuation procedures, assembly points, and emergency protocols.
- Conduct regular checks of emergency exits, fire doors, and safety equipment to ensure they are unobstructed and fully operational.
- Lead or support the safe evacuation of the premises in the event of a fire or other emergency.
- Complete relevant fire safety logs and checklists at the start and end of each shift.
- Maintain awareness of first aid procedures; hold or be willing to obtain a first aid qualification.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Essential
- Hold a current, valid PSA (Private Security Authority) licence for door security / minding.
- Previous experience in a security role, ideally within a licensed premises, casino, hotel, or entertainment venue.
- Good command of English. Second language is highly advantageous, particularly Spanish, Portuguese, French or Italian.
- Strong situational awareness with the ability to assess and manage risk calmly and decisively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — firm when required, professional at all times.
- Ability to de-escalate conflict effectively and to use physical intervention only as a last resort and in accordance with the law.
- Comfortable with administrative tasks including customer registration and incident reporting.
- Flexible availability including late nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Must be aged 18 or over and eligible to work in Ireland.
Desirable
- Experience working in a casino or gaming environment.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems and access control technology.
- Designated Person (DP) licence or willingness to obtain one.
- Second language an advantage given our diverse customer base.
- First Aid / CPR certification.
