Job Overview & Purpose
· Job Title: Regional Manager – Western Alzheimers.
· Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
· Job Purpose: Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for a regional network of dementia-specific community service, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care across in-home support, day care and befriending services.
Key Responsibilities
· Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and support local service coordinators, day centre managers, and field supervisors, fostering collaboration, accountability and a continuous improvement team culture.
· Operational Management: Oversee the effective day-to-day delivery and quality of in-home support, day care operations, and volunteer-led befriending services across the region.
· Governance & Risk Management: Maintain effective governance and risk management systems across the region, ensuring compliance with organisational policies, regulatory requirements, service agreements, dementia care best practice and the Charities Governance Code.
· Information Governance: Ensure compliance with GDPR, data protection legislation, confidentiality requirements, and secure record management practices.
· Quality and Compliance: Ensure services operate in line with safeguarding requirements, service specifications and evidence-based dementia care practices. Lead audit, service evaluation and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
· Recruitment Support: Support regional team leaders through recruitment, selection, onboarding and mandatory training processes. Ensure compliance with Garda Vetting, reference checking, supervision and ongoing support requirements for staff and volunteers.
· Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain effective relationships with service users, family carers, primary care services, public health nursing teams, funders and other key stakeholders.
· Resource & Financial Management: Manage regional budgets, workforce planning and resource allocation. Provide operational, financial and quality performance reports to the CEO, Board of Directors/Trustees, funders, regulators and other relevant stakeholders.
· Safeguarding: Ensure implementation of adult safeguarding policies and procedures, promote a safeguarding culture across all services, manage safeguarding concerns appropriately, and ensure mandatory safeguarding training compliance among staff and volunteers.
Person Specification & Requirements
· Qualifications: Third-level qualification (NFQ Level 7 or higher) in Health/Social Care, Nursing, Social Work, or Health Management or a related discipline.
· Experience: Minimum of five years' management experience within health, social care, community services or the not-for-profit sector, including responsibility for multi-site service delivery, staff management and budget oversight.
· Dementia Expertise: Demonstrated knowledge of person-centred dementia care and community-based support services.
Required Skills: -Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage change, develop staff, and promote a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement, with risk assessment capability, and excellent interpersonal skills.
-Knowledge of adult safeguarding requirements and relevant Irish legislation.
- Understanding of the Charities Governance Code and charity sector governance requirements.
- Experience in budget management, financial reporting, and resource planning.
- Understanding of service level agreements and publicly funded service delivery.
- Strong analytical, report-writing, communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of GDPR and data protection requirements.
· Driving Licence: Full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle for regional travel.
