Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, person-centred care to residents in accordance with their individual care plans.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility and mealtime support.
- Promote residents' dignity, privacy, independence and choice at all times.
- Support residents' physical, emotional and social wellbeing.
- Observe and report any changes in residents' health or behaviour to the nurse in charge.
- Assist with moving and handling procedures in accordance with training and policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records as required.
- Support residents in social and recreational activities and encourage meaningful engagement.
- Maintain a clean, safe and homely environment for residents.
- Work collaboratively with nurses and the multidisciplinary team.
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures and all health and safety policies.
- Participate in mandatory training and continuous professional development.
- Adhere to HIQA Standards and all Cramers Court Nursing Home policies and procedures.
Requirements
- QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support (Care of the Older Person and Care Skills modules) or working towards achieving the qualification.
- Previous experience in a nursing home or healthcare setting is desirable but not essential.
- Genuine interest in caring for older persons.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, caring and respectful approach to resident care.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and use own initiative.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Understanding of person-centred care principles.
- Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends and public holidays as required.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
Preferred
- Experience in dementia care and palliative care.
- Manual handling and safeguarding training.
- Experience working within HIQA-regulated services.
Pay: €30,500.00-€32,500.00 per year
