Position Description
We are seeking an experienced Customer Relationship Manager with a strong background in B2B sales and account management, ideally within the energy or a comparable regulated market. The role requires strong relationship management, commercial acumen, customer focus and the ability to work cross‑functionally to deliver sales growth and retention outcomes for business customers across electricity, gas and energy services.
In support of ESB’s strategic objectives of decarbonising electricity, building resilient infrastructure and empowering clients, this role will actively manage and grow customer relationships, protect and grow margin, support customer retention, and contribute market and customer insight to inform product, pricing and service development across the business markets portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver agreed sales growth and retention targets across retail electricity, retail gas and energy services, with particular focus on upper Industrial & Commercial (I&C) customers.
Manage a portfolio of business customers through proactive engagement, including regular customer meetings and site visits.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and key industry stakeholders including brokers, consultants and service providers.
Issue electricity and gas quotations, support retention campaigns and produce customer and performance reports.
Build and maintain a strong understanding of customer needs, market dynamics and competitor activity, feeding insights back into the business.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, customised service solutions and enhanced customer experience.
Lead or contribute to defined projects, public tenders, stakeholder engagements and cross‑functional initiatives as required.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
Minimum 5 years’ experience in B2B sales and/or account management in a competitive market environment.
Professional third‑level qualification (or equivalent experience) in sales, marketing, business or an engineering discipline.
Strong customer relationship management, communication and influencing skills.
Demonstrated commercial judgement, analytical capability and problem‑solving skills.
Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Proven ability to develop and sustain relationships with customers and external stakeholders.
Full driving licenc e , due to the requirement for regular customer visits.
Desirable
Proficiency in Microsoft Exce l and the use of reporting / customer data to support sales and retention activity.
Location
This position will be based in Swift Square, Santry, with occasional regional travel across Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in‑person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in‑person collaboration on at least two days per week . All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.

Salary
€59,900 - €70,500 per annum (depending on experience)
