We are currently recruiting a dependable, professional and observant Relief Security Officer to join our team at a residential accommodation service in Dublin 2.
This is a flexible relief position, ideal for someone looking to supplement their income or fit work around other commitments. Additional shifts become available to cover annual leave, sickness and operational requirements.
Shifts may include weekdays, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
About the Role
The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining the safety and security of the building. This is primarily an office-based position where you will monitor CCTV systems, oversee access to the premises and respond appropriately to any security or safety concerns.
Interaction with residents is minimal and limited to general assistance when required, such as checking communal supplies or ensuring shared areas remain clean, tidy and free from hazards.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor CCTV systems and respond appropriately to security concerns.
- Control access to the building and ensure security procedures are followed.
- Carry out routine internal and external security patrols.
- Maintain clean, safe and obstruction-free communal areas.
- Check communal supplies and report when replenishment is required.
- Report maintenance, health and safety or security issues promptly.
- Complete daily logs, incident reports and shift handovers accurately.
- Respond professionally and calmly to incidents and emergencies.
- Liaise with management and emergency services when required.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in security, concierge, caretaking or a similar role is desirable but not essential.
- A professional, reliable and trustworthy approach.
- Excellent observation skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and written reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and use sound judgement.
- Basic computer skills for CCTV monitoring and record keeping.
- Flexibility to work relief shifts as required.
- A PSA Security Licence is an advantage but not essential, depending on experience.
