We are currently seeking a motivated Construction Materials Technician to join our team based in Naas, Co. Kildare.
While primarily based in our materials testing laboratory in Naas, you will also have regular opportunities to work on live construction sites across Ireland.
The Role
As a Materials Technician, you will support the sampling, on-site testing, and laboratory-based testing various construction materials,
This is a hands-on, practical role requiring flexibility, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn new skills that will include the opportunity to travel to various construction sites when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out testing of construction materials (soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt)
- Conduct on-site sampling and insitu testing of various materials for analysis
- Complete paperwork maintaining accurate records
- Assist with field and laboratory-based testing activities
- Work within approved UKAS accredited management systems
- Liaise with senior members of staff and clients ensuring all work is completed to a high standard
- Maintain excellent standards of health & safety both on site and in the lab
- Set up, clean, and maintain testing equipment and work areas
Requirements
- Previous experience in construction or civil engineering projects is preferred but not essential
- Physically fit as work tasks include manual handling of test equipment and bagged samples weighing approximately 15 to 20 kilograms.Self-motivated, hardworking, and with a strong work ethic
- Good verbal and written communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Full clean EU driving licence and Safe Pass (essential)
