Job Title: Senior Food & Beverage Team Member (Full-Time)

About the Role
Headfort Golf Club is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Food & Beverage Team Member to join our team. This full-time position is ideal for someone with a strong hospitality background who enjoys delivering exceptional customer service while supporting and guiding colleagues.
The successful candidate will play an important role in the day-to-day operation of the clubhouse and will be expected to lead by example during service. They will assist the Food & Beverage Manager and Supervisor in maintaining high standards and will act as the senior member of the team during shifts when management is not on duty. This is a hands-on role that requires initiative, reliability and the ability to work confidently across all aspects of the Food & Beverage operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service to members, guests and visitors in a friendly, welcoming and professional manner.
- Open the Food & Beverage operation when rostered for opening shifts, ensuring all service areas are prepared and ready for business.
- Take food and beverage orders and provide efficient table and bar service throughout the day.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with licensing laws and club standards.
- Support, guide and assist team members during busy service periods, leading by example at all times.
- Take responsibility for the smooth running of the Food & Beverage operation during shifts when the Food & Beverage Manager or Supervisor is not on duty.
- Assist the Food & Beverage Manager and Supervisor in maintaining service standards, training new team members and ensuring the efficient operation of the department.
- Handle customer queries and resolve issues professionally, escalating matters to management where appropriate.
- Ensure all bar, restaurant and service areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation and hygiene.
- Assist with stock control, stock rotation and regular stock takes.
- Process payments accurately and complete end-of-shift cash and till procedures.
- Carry out closing duties, including securing the Food & Beverage operation and locking up the clubhouse at the end of the evening.
- Assist with the setup and delivery of competitions, society outings, weddings, functions and other club events.
- Follow all Food Safety, Health & Safety and Club policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a busy bar, restaurant, hotel or hospitality environment is essential.
- A confident hospitality professional who can support colleagues and maintain high standards when working independently.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and make sound decisions when required.
- Experience serving both food and beverages, with a good knowledge of bar operations.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- A reliable, trustworthy and professional attitude with excellent time management.
