Position: Quality Manager
Reporting To: Technical Manager IOI
Purpose of this Position : As a Quality Manager within the Technical team, you are responsible for the development and management of the Quality Assurance Policy in O Brien Fine Foods thus ensuring the supply of 100% safe food. Working closely with the Technical Manager IOI and quality team, the Quality Manager is responsible for implementing and management of the quality management system throughout the organisation
The Quality Manager is required to continually improve on the Quality Assurance System, by providing technical support to the Operations: Production and Maintenance Teams.
Key Contact/ Relationships
Internal: Group Management, Site Management, supervisors and employees
External: Suppliers, customers, and stakeholders
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Managing the Site Quality Department
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects
- Management of the company’s traceability program
- Developing & implementing quality management procedures and systems for quality assurance
- Monitor customer complaints, implement corrective and preventative action where possible
- Ensuring compliance with internal standards; legal and statutory requirements and international best practice; and driving a policy of continuous improvement for quality assurance
- Review and update SOPs in relation to work activities
- Liaising with colleagues in production and maintenance in regard to Quality Assurance
- Inspecting and sampling the entire manufacturing process including liaison with suppliers.
- Managing internal communications and training programmes to ensure that employees are conversant with, trained in and compliant with stringent QA
- Liaising with the regulatory authority and managing all regulatory and customer audits & inspections as required.
- Liaising on internal audits, plant inspections and structural audits in compliance with the requirements of the BRC
Knowledge/Skills/ Experience:
The ideal candidate should have experience in a Quality Assurance Management role, preferably specialising in the Meat industry. In addition to this, Quality Manager should have willingness to work together with co-workers, in finding solutions in order to improve the organisation.
