Shift Pattern: Monday - Sunday, 8.00 am -16.30 pm
Job Summary:
The Healthcare Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of healthcare services within the facility, ensuring that all aspects of patient care, staff management, and regulatory compliance are met. The role involves leading a team of healthcare professionals, improving operational processes, managing budgets, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. The Healthcare Manager will play a critical role in shaping and implementing healthcare strategies, policies, and procedures.
Manage operations
- Audit and inspect contract standards, complete site audit documentation
- Ensure the required work, standards and financial targets are achieved. Monitor and report on financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and cost control.
- Implement the ISO quality management system
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the healthcare facility, ensuring the delivery of effective and high-quality patient care.
- Monitor and evaluate operational performance, making adjustments as needed to improve efficiency and quality of care.
- Reporting and recording all aspects of the operations
- Ensure that the quality of services being provided meets contractual obligations and review areas of concern and general progress weekly with direct reports
- Audit and inspect contract standards, complete site documentation (including MEG, HSE, HIQA, JCI etc audits)
- Ensure the required work, standards and financial targets are achieved in all services
- New Contract start-up Planning, Transition and Implementation
- Implement the ISO Quality Management System
- Management of the rostered hours and recording of same
- Stock Management and monitoring
People Management
- To monitor on a regular basis absenteeism, turnover statistics and to implement proactive measures to control irregularities
- To ensure that all HR Policies and procedures including recruitment, discipline, training and development are being properly adhered to
- To implement effective manpower planning system for the successful operation
- Provide appropriate management control through effective planning, organizing, control and communication systems
- To ensure that all staff are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out the duties of their job effectively and to develop succession planning opportunities
- Rostering and scheduling of all annual leave and ensuring cover also
- Oversee weekly payroll
Foster customer relations
- Promote possible services on site
- Liaise with client representatives
- Promote quality client communications
- Promptly deal with any client issues or complaints
- Check all quality related discrepancies are rectified
- Attend client meetings, become actively involved in site procedures
- Suggest improvements and provide feedback to clients
Finance
- Ensure accurate and timely cost reporting
- Periodic billing is managed and accurate
- Control costs as per budget and analyse variances weekly
Sales
- Ensure close liaison with Sales Team in the planning of new business and extensions to existing business
Health & Safety
- That the Staff within your Division has full working knowledge of ISS Irelands health & safety policy, procedures and systems
- That the working environment is safe and conforms to current legislation
- Distribution of toolbox talks and monitoring of same
- Work areas are maintained in a clean, tidy and safe condition
- Ensuring all equipment is maintained and safe to use
- All staff are trained to the relevant standards and all training is documented
HR Responsibilities
- Conduct investigation & disciplinary hearings in conjunction with HR
- Monitor staff performance & assist in staff development
- Monitor attendance and personnel issues and ensure adherence of current employment law.
Continuous Improvement

- Research and propose innovative and effective ways to work
Communication
- To ensure that effective communication is maintained with direct reports, internal and external customers, suppliers, colleagues and Senior Mgt.
- Regular meetings to update on new development and encourage feedback.
Administrative and Budgetary Duties
- Check pay sheets, special payments and site expenditure & invoicing for all works on site
- Check management accounts, plan budgets, ensure budgetary targets are met and avoid overspends
- Plan preventative maintenance on all machinery
Account development
- Liaise with business development personnel on growth of business and expenditure
- Generation of once-off work
- Assist in the costing for re-tenders or new business
- Implementation of new services and reporting on same
Person Requirements:
- Management/Supervisory Experience - minimum 3/4 years relevant experience
- Garda Vetting will be required in this position
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong management / Problem solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage costings/budget
- Excellent management skills essential with experience in healthcare cleaning industry
- Computer literacy required-MS Office Suite
- Flexible & adaptable
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Drive and adaptability to ensure that challenging targets are met

- May require flexible working hours, including evenings or weekends, depending on operational needs.

It may be necessary to work alternative hours, shift patterns or unsociable hours, including weekends and sometimes more than contracted hours. As part of your job, you will be expected to attend training events and/or meetings and travel to other work locations may be required. Local requirements will govern your patterns of work. You will be required to be Garda Vetted and have a clear record. You will be required to be vaccinated against various illnesses.
