Teachín is a new, family-owned café opening soon with locally sourced produce, innovative menu, and welcoming atmosphere. We’re seeking a passionate and skilled Full-Time Commis chef to join our dedicated kitchen team and help us deliver excellent dining experiences to our customers.
Position Overview
As a Commis Chef you’ll play a key role in our kitchen, bringing creativity, attention to detail, and efficiency to a fast-paced environment. This is a permanent, in-person role based in Kinnegad.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation: Learn to prepare high-quality dishes from scratch, following standardised recipes and ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes.
Cooking: Learn to execute a diverse range of cooking techniques to create an enticing and varied menu.
Quality Control: Maintain strict standards of food quality, freshness, and hygiene throughout all stages of food preparation and service.
Inventory Management: Learn to monitor and manage inventory levels of kitchen supplies, ingredients, and perishables, ensuring efficient usage and minimizing waste.
Kitchen Operations: Learn the day-to-day kitchen operations, including food prep, cooking, cleaning, and equipment maintenance, ensuring a smooth workflow and compliance with food safety regulations.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen team, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork.
Adherence to Policies: Follow all company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment at all times.

Strong culinary skills and a genuine passion for to learn with a creative flair.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, with a commitment to upholding high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Effective communication and leadership abilities, with the capacity to work well under pressure and collaborate with a diverse team.
Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Previous experience as a commis chef in a busy café or restaurant setting is essential.
Work authorisation: Ireland (required).
Pay: €15.50 per hour
