This is an excellent opportunity for a site-based Setting Out Engineer with 3–5 years' experience to take ownership of accurate setting out, surveying and technical coordination on a high-profile civil engineering project.

Project Experience

The Role
As a Setting Out Engineer with Wills Bros, you will support the successful planning, setting out, surveying, coordination and delivery of civil engineering works on site in Limerick.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Carry out accurate setting out and surveying using GPS, Total Station and related equipment.
- Interpret drawings, specifications and technical information to support accurate project delivery.
- Provide clear setting out information to site teams, foremen, operatives and subcontractors.
- Check levels, measurements, QA records, as-built information and technical documentation.
- Monitor quality of works and ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Maintain accurate site diaries, surveys, progress records and engineering files.
- Identify and report design issues, discrepancies or engineering challenges.
- Support planning, sequencing, coordination, health and safety, environmental and quality compliance on site.
- Work closely with Site Agents, Senior Engineers, Project Managers, subcontractors and suppliers to deliver works safely and efficiently.
About You
We are interested in hearing from Setting Out Engineers and Site Engineers who possess:
- A Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years' experience as a Setting Out Engineer within civil engineering, infrastructure or heavy civils.
- Strong setting out, surveying, levels, measurements, drawings, specifications and quality control experience.
- Proficiency with GPS, Total Station, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, site documentation, QA records and as-built information.
- Main contractor experience is highly desirable.
- Good knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
- Excellent communication, organisation, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail.
- A full, clean Irish driving licence.
- Experience or a strong interest in roads, bridges, structures, drainage, utilities, earthworks, public works or heavy civils is highly desirable.
