Sales Assistant – Pet & Equine Retail
We are a locally owned pet store in Wexford and are currently recruiting for a Full-Time Sales Assistant to join our team, based primarily in our New Ross store.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous experience in the pet or equine retail industry, or for someone with a strong interest in horses and equine products. The successful candidate will be passionate about customer service, enjoy working with animals, and thrive in a busy retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service, assisting customers both in-store and over the phone.
- Process cash and card payments and balance the till at the end of the day.
- Replenish stock and ensure shelves are well presented throughout the day.
- Maintain high standards of shop presentation, cleanliness, and organisation.
- Assist with the daily care and cleaning of the animals in our store.
- Work across both our New Ross and Wexford branches as required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous retail experience (pet or equine retail experience is an advantage).
- A keen interest in pets and horses, with knowledge of equine products preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to work independently and use their own initiative.
- A positive, reliable, and hardworking attitude.
- A full, clean driving licence.
Additional Information
- This role is for 4/5 days a week
- The role includes Saturday work.
- We are closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
