About our Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Receptionist to join our team at UL Sport Arena, University of Limerick.
As the first point of contact for members, students, visitors and guests, the Receptionist plays a key role in creating a positive experience for everyone who enters our facility. This position is ideally suited to an enthusiastic, customer-focused professional who enjoys working with people and takes pride in delivering exceptional service. As this role typically starts at 6.15am three times a week on average with two later starts also, it is well suited to someone who enjoys early mornings and takes pride in helping to create a welcoming and positive atmosphere from the moment our doors open.
The successful candidate will be the face of UL Sport, helping to create a welcoming atmosphere where people feel they belong and are part of a vibrant, inclusive community. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will support the day-to-day operation of reception services while ensuring a consistently high standard of customer care.
Key Responsibilities
This is a dynamic role where every day brings something different, but responsibilities will include:
- Providing a warm, professional and welcoming experience for all members, customers and visitors
- Acting as the first point of contact for enquiries in person, by phone and via email
- Managing member check-ins and ensuring efficient reception operations throughout the day
- Processing memberships, bookings, renewals and payments accurately
- Maintaining customer and membership records in line with GDPR requirements
- Promoting UL Sport programmes, services, facilities and events
- Handling customer queries and resolving issues in a professional and timely manner
- Supporting the coordination of facility bookings and daily schedules
- Operating point-of-sale systems and balancing transactions when required
- Assisting with administrative duties and providing support to the wider UL Sport team
- Ensuring reception, customer-facing areas and information displays are maintained to a high standard
- Contributing to a positive culture that promotes inclusion, wellbeing and community engagement
The ideal candidate will be
· Passionate about delivering outstanding customer service as well as all things sport
· Friendly, approachable and confident interacting with a diverse range of customers
· Experienced in a customer-facing role and comfortable working at a busy reception desk
· Highly organised, with strong administrative and multitasking skills
· An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, IT systems and other administrative systems with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
· Accurate, detail-oriented and capable of maintaining confidential information
· Comfortable working independently while also contributing as part of a team
· Committed to creating an environment where all members feel welcome, valued and included
A flexible team player with a collaborative mindset – this role involves a flexible work schedule
Requirements and Qualification
· Previous experience in a reception, customer service, administrative or hospitality role is desirable
· A qualification in business administration, customer service or a related discipline would be an advantage
· Experience working in a sports, leisure, fitness or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential

Working Hours and Contract
· Full-time position
· 6.15am start time three times a week, with two later morning starts
· This role is predominantly Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday working required to meet business needs.
