We are currently recruiting for a Senior Indoor Plant Horticulturist to join our Arboretum Urban Green store in Dublin City Centre.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced horticulturist with a passion for indoor plants and urban greening. As a senior member of the horticultural team, you will play a key role in maintaining and developing our extensive indoor plant offering, sharing your expertise with customers and colleagues, and creating inspiring displays that bring nature into city living.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service by providing expert advice on indoor plants, helping customers select the right plants for their homes, apartments, offices, and lifestyles.
- Act as a lead source of knowledge on indoor plant care, including watering, feeding, lighting requirements, pest management, repotting, and plant health.
- Support and mentor colleagues, helping to develop product knowledge and maintain high standards throughout the department.
- Assist in proactively driving sales through excellent customer engagement, strong product knowledge, and effective merchandising.
- Maintain outstanding standards of plant quality, presentation, and care across the indoor plant department.
- Create and maintain visually inspiring indoor plant displays that enhance the customer experience and showcase current trends in houseplants and urban gardening.
- Provide a point of contact for customer enquiries, resolving issues professionally and ensuring a positive outcome.
- Keep up to date with emerging indoor plant trends, new varieties, and customer interests within the rapidly growing houseplant market.
- Ensure all plant labelling, POS materials, and displays are accurate, attractive, and up to date.
- Assist management with stock control, goods inwards, stock taking, wastage control, and inventory management in line with company policies.
- Support the day-to-day operation of the store and contribute to the success of the wider team.
The Ideal Candidate
- Has a genuine passion for indoor plants, houseplants, and urban horticulture.
- Possesses strong practical experience and knowledge of indoor plant care and maintenance.
- Can confidently advise customers on all aspects of houseplant selection and care, from beginner-friendly plants to more specialist varieties.
- Holds a horticultural qualification (essential).
- Has previous horticultural retail experience and is comfortable working in a customer-facing environment.
- Demonstrates excellent leadership qualities and enjoys sharing knowledge, mentoring colleagues, and leading by example.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and support colleagues within a retail or horticultural environment.
- Has strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a keen eye for merchandising and plant presentation.
- Is customer-focused, approachable, and committed to delivering an exceptional shopping experience.
- Continuously seeks to expand their horticultural knowledge and stay informed about the latest indoor plant trends and innovations.
