Position Description
The Area Manager is responsible for the successful design, construction, maintenance and operation of the function. This involves managing the performance of staff, contractors, networks and equipment. Ensuring the safety of the staff and the public is also a key objective. The job requires the maintenance of good relationships with key stakeholders. The Area Manager must take a broad business view which addresses cross functional issues and optimises day to day management of the team’s performance. A key objective is to ensure that the function consistently achieves KPIs and standards in a challenging commercial environment. The Area Manager will manage change management initiatives that affect the business.
Key Responsibilities
Manage Customer driven work and maintain customer services levels
Deliver work programmes
Develop and maintain close working relationship with Project Delivery, Infrastructure Engagement Manager, Contracting, AM, E&MP and Sustainability & Systems.
Develop a Safety and Quality culture
Motivate, lead and develop a productivity-focused team to efficiently deliver PR6.
Manage Opex, Capex and OH costs
Manage Stakeholders
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
Either 3rd Level qualification or equivalent work experience is essential.
Minimum 10 years relevant experience
Knowledge of the Electrical Safety Rules
Knowledge of ESB Networks Operation and Construction Standards
Delivery of work programmes
Stakeholder Management Experience
Managing Performance Through People Experience
Ability to motivate, lead and develop team to raise performance levels
Manage Opex, Capex and OH costs
Full clean driving licence and access to a car
Desirable
Knowledge of LV, MV, HV network operations
Knowledge of Network Assets and Standards; Sub-stations, Cables, Lines, Protection and Metering
Understanding of ESB's Group policies in all dealings with staff, customers, contractors, general public etc.

Salary
€86,000 to €101,000 per annum
