The Surgical Dental Nurse plays a vital role in supporting advanced surgical and implant procedures, ensuring exceptional patient care, clinical excellence, and efficient surgical workflows. This role is instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of safety, precision, and patient experience throughout the surgical journey.
Provide chairside assistance during surgical and implant procedures.
Maintain strict aseptic technique, infection-prevention protocols, and surgical safety standards.
Manage implant inventory and anticipate upcoming surgical requirements.
Operate digital technologies, including iMetric scanning and photogrammetry systems.
Complete, accurate, and timely surgical records and documentation.
Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and prepared.
Assist during sedation procedures while maintaining exceptional patient care standards.
Support the preparation and management of full-arch implant surgery cases.
Recognized Level 6 Dental Nursing qualification (or equivalent qualification recognized in Ireland).
Eligible to work as a Dental Nurse in Ireland.
Hepatitis B vaccination (or willingness to provide proof of immunisation), as required for clinical practice.
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Dental Nurse.
Previous experience assisting in oral surgery and surgical dental procedures.
Experience with dental implant treatments is highly preferred.
Experience supporting single-unit implant cases is considered a strong advantage.
Exposure to full-arch implant procedures is desirable.
Technical Knowledge
Dental implant procedures.
Surgical protocols and workflows.
Infection prevention and aseptic techniques.
Patient care during sedation procedures.
Digital dentistry workflows.
Technology
Experience using digital clinical systems.
Exposure to iMetric scanning and photogrammetry systems is an advantage.
Experience with Dentally or similar practice management software is desirable.
Languages
This role is based in Galway, Ballybrit.
The expected start date is early September.
Both full-time (40 hours) and part-time (20 hours) opportunities are available.
The clinic operates Monday to Sunday, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Shift patterns may include 7:30 AM–2:30 PM, 2:30 PM–8:30 PM, or 8:00 AM–8:00 PM, depending on business needs.
Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends, is required.
