R&D Tax Credits (Scientific / Technical) - Assistant Manager

About the Role
Grant Thornton's R&D Incentives team combines specialist tax expertise with industry knowledge to help innovative businesses maximise the value of Ireland's R&D tax incentives and grant funding opportunities.
We are looking for an Assistant Manager to join our growing R&D Incentives practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax or accounting professional with experience in R&D tax incentives to work with a diverse portfolio of innovative clients while developing their technical and client advisory skills.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Lead client engagements, advising businesses on the eligibility of R&D activities under Irish tax legislation and Revenue guidance.
- Review qualifying projects and prepare high-quality technical analysis and supporting documentation for R&D tax credit claims.
- Prepare and review submissions to Irish Revenue and other funding bodies, ensuring accuracy, quality and compliance.
- Manage multiple client assignments, ensuring work is delivered on time and to a high professional standard.
- Build strong relationships with clients and work closely with colleagues across the wider Tax and Advisory teams.
- Review work prepared by junior team members, providing coaching and technical guidance.
- Support proposals, business development initiatives and opportunities to grow existing client relationships.
Keep up to date with changes in R&D tax legislation and Revenue guidance.

Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- At least two years' experience in R&D tax credits or innovation incentives within a professional services or advisory environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of Irish R&D tax legislation and qualifying activities.
- Experience managing client engagements and delivering work to tight deadlines.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging with senior finance, tax and commercial stakeholders.
