Position: Regional Sales Manager – Dublin/Leinster
Location & Travel
This role is based in Dublin. Regular travel around Leinster is required to service on-trade, off-trade, wholesale and hospitality accounts, with occasional travel nationally where required to support wider commercial activity, alongside occasional travel to Dingle, Co. Kerry for company meetings, training and events. A full clean driving licence is required; a company vehicle will be provided.
Relationships
Reports to: Head of Ireland & UK Sales
Responsible for: Driving new business development and proactive management of existing accounts, delivering trade relationships, sales opportunities, brand visibility and commercial performance for Dingle Distillery products across the Dublin/Leinster region.
Liaison with: Head of Ireland & UK Sales, senior management, marketing team, production and operations, finance, logistics, distributors, wholesalers, on-trade and off-trade customers, hospitality partners, event partners and external suppliers.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and win new business opportunities for Dingle Distillery across the Dublin/Leinster region, spanning on-trade, off-trade, wholesale, retail, corporate, tourism and hospitality channels. Proactively manage and grow existing accounts across the region, ensuring retention, increased distribution and continued commercial performance. Build and maintain strong relationships with key regional accounts, distributors, trade partners and industry contacts across Dublin/Leinster to support sales growth and long-term commercial partnerships. Identify, pursue and convert new sales leads within the region, ensuring opportunities are properly tracked, followed up and progressed through the full sales cycle. Deliver agreed regional sales targets, revenue objectives and account growth plans, providing regular updates to the Head of Ireland & UK Sales on pipeline activity, performance, risks and opportunities. Promote the Dingle Distillery portfolio, including whiskey, gin and vodka, in a manner that reflects the brand's independent, premium and craft-led positioning. Support the planning and delivery of tastings, trade events, activations, launches, brand experiences and customer engagement initiatives across the Dublin/Leinster market. Work closely with marketing to ensure regional sales activity, promotional materials and customer communications are aligned with the Dingle Distillery brand and commercial strategy. Monitor regional market trends, customer feedback, competitor activity and category developments, sharing relevant insights with the Head of Ireland & UK Sales to inform business planning. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer activity, agreed actions, sales forecasts and commercial discussions, using the company’s agreed CRM/reporting system. Negotiate pricing, promotional activity and trade spend within agreed parameters, escalating any exceptions to the Head of Ireland & UK Sales. Represent Dingle Distillery professionally at all times, acting as a positive ambassador for the brand, the distillery and the wider business. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned.
Key Performance Indicators (to be agreed with Head of Ireland & UK Sales)
- Regional sales revenue and volume versus agreed target. Number and value of new accounts opened across Dublin/Leinster. Retention and growth of existing accounts across the region. Distribution and listing growth across on-trade and off-trade outlets in the region. Pipeline activity and conversion rate against the sales cycle. Timeliness and accuracy of CRM/reporting updates.
Person Specification
Experience & Skills
- Proven track record in field sales, business development or account management, ideally within drinks, FMCG or hospitality. Experience covering both new business development and ongoing account management. Strong negotiation skills, including pricing and promotional activity. Existing network of on-trade and off-trade contacts across Dublin/Leinster is advantageous. Strong communication and relationship-management skills. Self-motivated and comfortable working independently while reporting into a national sales structure. Strong IT literacy, including CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
Qualifications
- Full clean driving licence (essential); a company vehicle will be provided. Third-level qualification in business, marketing, hospitality or a related discipline (desirable). WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) qualification, or equivalent drinks industry qualification (desirable).
