Role Title: Clinical Call Centre Nurse

Vhi Health & Wellbeing DAC currently has a permanent, full time vacancy for the position of Clinical Call Centre Nurse based on the Naas Road (Hybrid).
Our Clinical Call Centre Nurses ensure that every patient contacting the Vhi Clinical Call Centre receives direct and appropriate care and an excellent healthcare experience, by assessing and identifying their needs, following a standardised triage protocol, offering a clinical option or healthcare advice and implementing and monitoring the patient's medical plan and treatment.
To work in other H&W services where the need arises, either to maintain clinical skills or to support the provision of other H&W services.

What you will do:-
Work a flexible 24/7 rota to support Vhi members and act as the first clinical point of contact within the Clinical Call Centre.

Assess, triage and prioritise patients using approved clinical protocols, decision-support software, and professional clinical judgement.

Provide evidence-based advice, treatment recommendations, referrals, and signposting to the most appropriate healthcare services.

Document all patient interactions accurately and maintain up-to-date electronic health records (EHRs) in line with clinical and organisational requirements.

Respond to requests for physician referrals and urgent care appointments, ensuring a high standard of patient care and experience.

Collaborate effectively with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to support the delivery of a safe, efficient, and member-focused service.

Maintain and develop clinical competence through participation in departmental rotations, continuous professional development, training and adherence to Vhi policies, procedures and guidelines.

Contribute to service quality and improvement initiatives through participation in clinical audits, projects and the training and support of new team members.

Maintain patient confidentiality and deliver care that respects individual, cultural and social differences.
What you will need to be successful:-
Must be registered on the General Division of the live register of nurses kept by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.

Minimum 2 years’ experience working in an acute hospital environment within the last 5 years is essential.

Minimum degree: Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Emergency department or urgent care experience is desirable.

Paediatric and contact centre experience is desirable.

Possess significant influencing and negotiating skills and have the ability to engage, build and sustain relationships.

Excellent planning and organisational skills with ability to prioritise appropriately.

Work effectively with the Clinical Call Centre and all other departments within Vhi to ensure holistic and integrative care is delivered efficiently and effectively.
