Réalta Technologies is seeking an experienced DeltaV Commissioning Engineer to join our team and support one of our pharmaceutical clients in Co. Tipperary.
Reporting to the Digital Project Lead, this engineer will be responsible for the commissioning, testing and startup of Emerson DeltaV DCS, working closely with the site's Senior Automation team, CQV, Validation, Process Engineering and Operations teams to ensure the successful delivery of the automation scope.
Responsibilities
- Execute commissioning activities for Emerson DeltaV DCS in accordance with project schedules and GMP requirements.
- Perform I/O verification, loop checks, point-to-point testing and functional testing of DeltaV control systems.
- Support equipment and process shakedowns, startup activities and system troubleshooting during commissioning.
- Commission DeltaV Equipment Modules (EM), Control Modules (CM) and Batch configurations, ensuring systems perform in accordance with design specifications.
- Execute and support batch recipe testing and process verification activities.
- Identify, investigate and resolve automation issues encountered during commissioning, escalating where appropriate.
- Work closely with CQV, Validation, Process Engineering, Operations and vendor teams to ensure successful system handover.
- Support the execution of commissioning documentation, test protocols and commissioning records.
- Follow site SDLC and Change Control procedures when implementing or modifying DeltaV configurations.
- Assist with the resolution of commissioning punch list items and support final system acceptance.
- Ensure all commissioning activities are completed safely and in compliance with GMP, site quality standards and project procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or another relevant technical discipline.
- DeltaV training, including DeltaV Continuous Control and Batch.
- Minimum 3 years' experience working with Emerson DeltaV systems within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
- Hands-on experience commissioning DeltaV applications, including Control Modules (CM), Equipment Modules (EM) and Batch.
- Proven experience performing loop checks, I/O verification, functional testing, equipment shakedowns and startup activities.
- Experience supporting batch recipe testing and process commissioning.
- Previous commissioning experience on a GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing site is essential.
- Strong understanding of cGMP requirements, commissioning practices and SDLC methodologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary project team in a fast-paced commissioning environment.
