IO Resource is a trade-only distributor of barcode scanners, rugged handheld computers, label printers and point-of-sale hardware. We're based in Rathnew, Co. Wicklow, and supply resellers and IT departments across Ireland and the UK.
We're looking for a reliable, hands-on person to join our warehouse and technical service team — four hours a day, five days a week (around 20 hours). Core hours are 10:00 to 14:00, with some flexibility for the right person. Must have a forklift / reach truck licence.
The role is a mix of two things:
- Warehouse — goods in and out, picking, packing, dispatch and stock control.
- Technical service — setting up and configuring devices (Android handhelds, scanners and printers), testing returns and helping with basic repairs. You'll be trained by our technical lead. You don't need to know our kit already, but you do need to be comfortable with technology and good with your hands.
This could suit a range of people:
- Someone semi-retired from a technical, engineering or IT background who wants steady, part-time work close to home.
- A student on a technical or engineering course looking for regular hours that fit around study.
- Anyone wanting school-hours work — 10 to 2 fits neatly around the school run.
What we're looking for: reliability above all, a genuine aptitude for technology, attention to detail, and the ability to do physical warehouse work. Any experience with IT hardware, electronics or barcode/EPoS equipment is a bonus, but not essential — we'll train you.
Training and certification: Manual handling training is provided on starting. A reach truck forklift licence is an strong advantage but not essential. You will be required to obtain a licence and renew it annually. And you will be expected to drive the forklift on a daily basis so confidence with this will be important.
On-site in Rathnew — your own transport is useful, as public transport is limited.
