ABOUT THIS ROLE
Reporting to the Head of Sales- Salon Channel , the role will be responsible for leading, inspiring, and mentoring a team of field-based Account Managers in region covering Scotland & Ireland to implement the Salon strategy, which is to drive sales and profitability across the channel and within your assigned territory. To provide training to further develop the team’s sales capabilities with the aim of generating revenues that will lead to sustainable growth through a focus on exceptional customer experience and the development of their teams.

Coach and develop the Business Development Managers, through inspiring them to provide our customers with an exceptional customer experience, sharing a passion for the brand, and our products. Create an outstanding environment that drives customer loyalty, upskills our people, drives high staff retention and delivers results.
To conduct regular visits to positively challenge, review, and recommend changes to drive overall business performance and to be a key member of the Senior Salon Leadership team to ensure that the teams are managed, and the culture reflects the ghd brand.
To be a strategic in approach and thinking, always looking ahead and at ways to improve efficiencies and maximise opportunities, to challenge the status quo and learn from mistakes.
The UK and Ireland is the largest and most developed markets for ghd. It is a critical territory for the sustainability of the brand at global level.
JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
People and Performance Management
- Lead by example with enthusiasm and energy with a people focussed approach to all matters and inspire your team on a day-to-day basis, to deliver the Salon Strategy and ensure all work is completed to a high standard (accurate, timely, thoughtfully and in line with our values).
- Develop and coach a highly motivated, successful team of Account Managers to drive and deliver results in line with agreed objectives and KPIs/Targets.
- Foster a culture of creativity and excellence.
- Role model and champion the 5Cs framework, be Collaborative, Creative, Courageous, Connected, Committed.
- Complete monthly accompaniments with Account Managers and evaluate performance using the 6 steps within myCoach. Develop the team to always put the customer first, setting an example of how to deliver positive and memorable customer experiences. Successfully deliver our 6 Steps and 4Cs.
- Conduct meaningful Annual performance appraisals with the Account Managers, developing effective development plans and setting clear objectives. Ensure regular reviews throughout the year to ensure Account Managers are on track and performing to their potential.
- Manage recruitment for your territory, support with the onboarding, and induction of new talent, and induction of new talent, requisition sign off through to working with the People team to appoint the very best people.
- Monitor territory performance, working with the teams to highlight and drive great results and to quickly take any remedial action needed.
- Actively communicate clearly across the business ensuring everyone who needs to know, does know and cascade Sales and Marketing Meeting.
- Promote a positive, honest, kind, and inclusive working environment, supporting and listening to the team’s needs, ensure they are treated fairly and feel excited to be part of the Salon team.
- Cultivate an environment of teamwork, openness, creativity, and continuous improvement of everyone's role.
- Lead monthly team meetings and other training meetings to educate and deliver strategies to the sales team.
Commercial
- Deliver all territory targets and KPIs’ as set out by the business.
- Develop and implement commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth.
- Forecasting annual, quarterly, and monthly sales.
- Build and maintain profitable partnerships with Key Accounts.
- Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management.
- Analyse territory results and trends and identify and report new opportunities for growth.
- Collaborate with the Education team to develop & drive all areas of in-salon training/education/new product launches/seminars.
- Build collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
Customer Service
- Actively engage in positive dialogue with customers to establish their needs, offer guidance and generate sales.
- Able to establish rapport with customers, adapting their approach as required.
- Inform customers about our products and services in a positive and knowledgeable way.
- Delivers exceptional customer service in line with PHD & Sales Training.
- Creates opportunities for theatre and ‘play’ in store, conducts and encourages effective sales floor product demonstrations to create a fun and enjoyable shopping experience whilst generating sales.
- Aware of industry and social media trends and topics, uses this insight to inform interactions with customers.
- Confidently overcomes any objections to purchase without ‘hard selling’ and gains commitment to purchase and close the sale.
