Togher Family Centre is seeking an ambitious and commercially focused Commercial Business Development Manager to help drive the next phase of our growth and sustainability.
For over 50 years, Togher Family Centre has been supporting children, young people and families across Cork through a wide range of services including Early Years Education, Family Support, Counselling, Youth Services and Supervised Child Contact Services.
This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven business development professional who wants to combine commercial success with meaningful social impact.
Position Details
Job Title: Commercial Business Development Manager
Location: Togher Family Centre, Cork
Hours: 24 hours per week (3 flexible days)
Salary: €24,000 – €27,500 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience
Working Arrangement: Hybrid and flexible working arrangements may be considered
Contract: Fixed-Term Contract – 12 Months
About the Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Commercial Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and developing new income-generating opportunities, increasing revenue across existing services, building strategic partnerships and strengthening Togher Family Centre’s position as a leading community organisation.
This is a senior position offering significant autonomy and the opportunity to directly influence the organisation’s future growth and sustainability.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Business Development & Income Generation
- Develop and implement a commercial growth strategy aligned with organisational objectives
- Identify and develop new income-generating opportunities and revenue streams
- Research market trends and competitor activity to inform growth opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships with corporate, public, voluntary and professional stakeholders
- Represent Togher Family Centre at networking events and sector forums
- Develop proposals, presentations and partnership opportunities
- Identify innovative commercial initiatives that contribute to long-term sustainability
- Service Growth & Partnership Development
You will play a key role in growing and promoting:
- Training and Meeting Room Hire Services
- Counselling and Wellbeing Services
- Corporate Wellbeing Programmes and Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Partnerships
- Supervised Child Contact Services
- New and emerging commercial opportunities across the organisation
- You will work to develop relationships with employers, HR departments, schools, colleges, solicitors, mediators, Tusla, social work services, statutory agencies and community organisations to increase referrals and generate sustainable income growth.
Marketing & Digital Growth
- Support digital marketing, SEO and social media initiatives
- Monitor website performance and enquiry conversion data
- Improve customer journeys and lead conversion opportunities
- Develop promotional content, service information, testimonials and case studies
- Work with external providers to strengthen digital lead generation activities
Performance & Reporting
- Maintain an active business development pipeline
- Track opportunities from lead generation through to conversion
- Monitor revenue generation and commercial performance
- Produce monthly reports on pipeline activity, opportunities, conversion rates and revenue growth
- Make recommendations to improve commercial performance and achieve agreed target
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications
Third-level qualification in Business, Marketing, Sales, Management or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
Essential Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in business development, commercial sales, account management or strategic partnerships
- Proven track record of delivering measurable revenue growth
- Experience managing sales pipelines from lead generation to conversion
- Experience building relationships with senior decision-makers
- Experience preparing proposals, negotiating agreements and securing new business opportunities
- Experience identifying and developing income-generating opportunities
- Experience working within a target-driven commercial environment
- Experience using CRM systems and reporting tools
Essential Skills & Competencies

- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Strong networking and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to identify and convert opportunities into sustainable revenue
- Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills

- Full clean driving licence and access to transport
Desirable Experience
- Experience within the community, charity, voluntary or social enterprise sector
- Experience promoting counselling, wellbeing or family support services
- Knowledge of legal, family support or referral-based services
- Experience developing corporate wellbeing or EAP partnerships
- Experience securing long-term contracts or strategic partnership agreements
