We are seeking a Purchase Coordinator to join our team in Cork who will to provide support and assistance to persons in multiple locations. This person will have responsibility for coordinating all the activities required to ensure that third party purchases are ordered and received in an efficient and timely manner, ensuring goods are available when needed.
The role and its responsibilities:
- Raising Purchase Orders, following up on deliveries to ensure they arrive on time
- Entering all the key data necessary to complete a purchase order in accordance with company guidelines and amending any agreed alterations to purchases order schedules (Hansa)
- Being a reference point for all supplier queries
- Communicating with suppliers in advance of due delivery dates as to the status of orders.
- Obtaining reasons from suppliers for non-conformance with terms of purchase orders and communicating reasons to the relevant Freefoam staff of supplier non-conformance
- Working closely with and supporting other persons raising purchase orders
- Ensuring all supplier information is correctly and accurately updated on a standardised layout, company wide database ensuring accuracy and integrity of data
- Recording on a database all supplier price lists, both current and historic
- Advise key negotiators of upcoming contract renewal dates
- Generate analysis reports on supplier activity and relevant processes necessary to better inform key negotiator with information to use with suppliers
- Provide to key negotiators details of alternative suppliers along with supporting documentation
- Meeting with suppliers and prospective suppliers and finding alternative suppliers where deemed necessary
Our ideal candidate will have the following:
- A third level business studies/commerce degree and / or have demonstrated similar purchasing related experience
- Related experience within a manufacturing environment would be an advantage
- Significant level of IT skills and an understanding of the implementation of purchase ordering cycles
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with company suppliers and internal customers alike
- Self motivated with the ability to work individually and within a team, prioritising multiple tasks, and working to meet deadlines and targets
- Excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and excellent attention to detail
- Eligibility to live and work in the EU, fluent English, both written and spoken
- Confident, enthusiastic individual with a “can do” attitude
