We are currently seeking for a professional person to join our team as an AIM support worker for 25 hours per week.
Job description:
The AIM Worker supports the inclusion of all children within the classroom ensuring they can participate fully in the curriculum and the day to day routine of Bright Sparks. This role involves working closely with children, staff, families and Better Start to create an inclusive environment that meets the individual needs of each child.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Child Support:
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to children within the classroom.
- Implement individualized plans and strategies to promote participation and engagement.
- Assist with daily routines, activities, and transitions to ensure all children can access the full curriculum.
2. Collaboration:
- Work closely with the childcare team to develop and implement inclusive practices.
- Communicate effectively with families and team involved with the class/child to provide updates on the child’s progress.
- Collaborate with external professionals (e.g., therapists, inclusion specialists) to support any individual child's development.
3. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of the child’s progress and any incidents.
- Prepare reports and participate in meetings to discuss the child’s development and any adjustments needed.
4. Training and Development:
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay informed about best practices in inclusive education and childcare.
- Share knowledge and strategies with colleagues to promote a collaborative learning environment.
5. Environment:
- Assist in creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all children.
- Adapt activities and materials to meet the diverse needs of the children in the setting.
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualification in Early Childhood Education minimum Level 5.
- Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
- Strong understanding of inclusive practices and the ability to implement them effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children

- FETAC/QQI Level 5 in Childcare (required)
