GROW HQ, the home of GIY, opened in 2016 and features a multi-award-winning farm-to-fork café, organic farm shop, organic training gardens, and a regenerative farm located at Curraghmore Estate.
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team. This is a permanent, full-time position supporting our daytime café service and seasonal evening service.
The role will primarily involve working Wednesday to Sunday, with occasional Tuesday shifts during busier periods.
Operational Hours
Tuesday – Prep Day (occasional shifts)
Wednesday – 8:00am – 4:00pm
Thursday – 8:00am – 8:00pm (extended evening service during July & August)
Friday – 8:00am – 8:00pm (extended evening service during July & August)
Saturday – 8:00am – 8:00pm (extended evening service during July & August)
Sunday – 8:00am – 4:00pm
Job Responsibilities
- Washing dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen and wash-up area.
- Assisting with basic food preparation when required.
- Receiving, checking, and putting away deliveries.
- Supporting the chefs and wider kitchen team throughout service.
- Following all food safety, hygiene, and cleaning procedures.
- Assisting with end-of-day cleaning and closing duties.
The Ideal Candidate Will Be
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive team player with a willingness to learn.
- Comfortable following instructions and working independently when required.
- Previous kitchen experience is an advantage but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
