Portmarnock Sports & Leisure Club is looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and motivated Pool Supervisor to lead the daily operation of our busy aquatic facility.
Contract: specific purpose contract for the purpose of maternity cover. (Starting September/October 2026)
Hours: Full-Time (Evenings & Weekends Required)
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills who enjoys a varied role combining people management, administration, customer service, and pool operations. The role is IT-based, requiring the successful candidate to confidently use online management systems, coordinate staff, communicate with parents and members, and ensure the smooth running of all aquatic programmes.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing and supervising a team of Swim Teachers and Lifeguards.
- Creating and maintaining staff rosters.
- Coordinating swim lesson programmes and class schedules.
- Managing bookings and programmes.
- Responding to emails and enquiries from parents, members, contractors, and staff.
- Maintaining accurate records using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Monitoring teaching standards and supporting staff development.
- Ensuring compliance with all Pool Operating Procedures (NOPs & SOPs).
- Managing pool water quality and maintaining operational records.
- Liaising with contractors regarding maintenance and repairs.
- Teaching swimming lessons and lifeguarding when required.
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the pool facility.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Excellent IT skills and confidence using management software.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Current Pool Lifeguard and Swim Teacher Qualification.
- Current First Aid Qualification.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
- Experience working in an aquatic or leisure environment.
- Good understanding of pool operations and water quality management.
Desirable
- Pool Plant Operator Certificate.
- Experience in pool plant operation and water treatment.

Pay: €28,910.22-€33,086.81 per year
