Role Title: Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist

Contract: Part Time (21 hours), Fixed Term (1 year)
Vhi Health & Wellbeing DAC currently has a part time (21 hours), fixed term (1 year) vacancy for the role
of musculoskeletal physiotherapist at the Vhi360 Health Centre in Cork. The caseload will entail management of a variety of acute to chronic musculoskeletal complaints. Referrals sources will primarily be from Urgent Care Clinicians, Orthopaedic Surgeons and Musculoskeletal Medicine Clinics.
The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team within Vhi Health & Wellbeing and will report to the local Multidisciplinary Team Lead and the National Lead Physiotherapist. The role involves close collaboration with key stakeholders, including the National Lead for Musculoskeletal Medicine, Vhi Health & Wellbeing Service Leads, interdisciplinary teams, and Orthopaedic Consultants. Reporting arrangements and responsibilities may evolve in line with organisational and clinical model developments.
Must have the flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by the role, and hold a full, clean driving licence.

What you will do:
- Independently assess, diagnose and manage a caseload of clients, developing and delivering evidence-based, person-centred treatment plans.

Provide a range of physiotherapy interventions, including education, self-management support, therapeutic exercise and manual therapy, in line with professional and regulatory standards.

Effectively manage complex cases in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members, ensuring coordinated, high-quality care.

Carry out the appropriate physiotherapy treatment for each patient with due regard for the Physiotherapy Code of Professional Conduct, as outlined by the CORU.

Maintain accurate caseload and diary management, facilitating timely referrals and communication with primary care and other healthcare professionals as appropriate.
- Act as a clinical resource for physiotherapy colleagues and contribute to an integrated team approach to service delivery.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, carers and colleagues, providing guidance, support and education to achieve optimal outcomes.
Audit and research-
Regularly audit clinical practice and initiate collaborative change that will improve standards of care and health outcomes to patients.
Education & Training-
Support staff and multidisciplinary team education and training.
- Maintain ongoing professional development.
- Develop patient education resources.

What you will need to be successful:
Essential requirements:-
Have a minimum of 3 years clinical experience.

Hold a Physiotherapy qualification recognised by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU or Hold a qualification in Physiotherapy awarded outside of the Republic of Ireland which has been recognised by the Physiotherapists.
- Registration Board at CORU – candidates must state CORU registration number on application or CORU application number and date of submission if still awaiting registration number.

Must be eligible for membership to the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists.
- Demonstrate alignment with the Vhi Values.
Skills / competencies:-
An interest in, or experience of Yoga, Meditation or Integrative Health.

Proficient in navigating IT systems and comfortable using digital platforms.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentation skills.

Exceptional planning and time management effectively prioritises tasks and has the ability to manage multiple complex tasks.
Strongly desirable:-
Musculoskeletal/Manual Therapy/Sports Medicine Masters.

Qualification and experience in teaching exercise classes.

A Strength and Conditioning qualification.

A knowledge of, and interest in, Integrative Health.
