About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and conscientious Night Supervisor/Porter to join our team at Park Lodge. This is a hands-on role covering security, cleaning, general night operations. The successful candidate will be a key point of contact overnight and will play an important role in maintaining a safe, clean and well-run environment for our residents.
Key Responsibilities
Security & Safety
- Conduct regular fire walks of the building throughout the shift, checking all fire exits, emergency lighting and communal areas
- Ensure all external doors and access points are secure at night
- Monitor the building for any safety or security concerns and respond appropriately
- Complete and log all security checks in line with centre procedures
Cleaning & Housekeeping
- Carry out nightly cleaning duties across all communal areas including corridors, lobbies, bathrooms and dining areas
- Undertake deep cleaning tasks as assigned, with a particular focus on kitchen areas including appliances, surfaces, floors and storage areas
- Ensure cleaning records are completed accurately after each task
- Report any maintenance issues identified during cleaning rounds
Resident Welfare & Handover
- Attend and participate in shift handover at the start of each night, ensuring all relevant information is received from the outgoing team
- Carry out resident check-ins as required during the night shift
- Provide a point of contact for residents with overnight queries or concerns, responding in a calm and professional manner
- Escalate any resident issues or welfare concerns appropriately and in a timely manner with Centre Manager
Incident Reporting
- Complete incident reports accurately and in a timely manner for any events occurring during the shift
- Maintain accurate logs of all activity, checks and issues arising overnight
- Answer the telephone and deal with queries professionally, taking messages and escalating where necessary
- Assist with administration tasks as directed by the Centre Manager or Duty Manager
Person Specification
- Previous experience in a similar role (night porter, security, care or hospitality) desirable but not essential
- Strong sense of responsibility and ability to work unsupervised overnight
- Good communication skills written and verbal
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Competent in basic administration and report writing
- Fluent English spoken and written
- Garda vetting required prior to commencement
- Clean and Full Driving License
