We are seeking a highly driven and proactive Business Development Manager (BDM) to grow our vehicle leasing portfolio through self-generated business. This role is focused on hunting new opportunities, building a strong pipeline, and converting prospects into long-term clients. The successful candidate will thrive in a target-driven environment and demonstrate a relentless approach to prospecting, networking, and winning new business.
This role demands a candidate who is highly motivated, dedicated to customer expansion, and possesses the ability to build and nurture valuable relationships with new clients.
The successful applicant will need to develop an in-depth understanding of our customers' businesses, industries, and challenges, with a primary goal of becoming their trusted fleet advisor.
This position is well-suited for individuals who are self-driven to meet challenging yet rewarding monthly business targets. We seek someone with exceptional relationship building and consultative sales skills, aiming for successful results. This role will focus specifically on our Direct Channel and on developing Fleet business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, target, and win new customers within the SME and Corporate sectors.
- Take full ownership of building and managing a self-generated sales pipeline.
- Develop and execute strategic prospecting plans to consistently achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Focus on new revenue generation rather than reliance on existing accounts.
- Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets, along with other performance metrics.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of our products and services to effectively communicate their benefits to potential customers.
- The creation and presentation of compelling sales proposals tailored to the specific fleet requirements of prospective customers.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, client interactions, and contracts.
- Stay updated on industry trends and competitors to inform your sales strategies.
- Identify tender opportunities and create high quality, detailed responses.
Skills, Experience and Requirements:
- Proven ability to generate their own outbound fleet sales at high volume.
- Experience with an existing portfolio of lease customers would be a distinct advantage, but not a requirement.
- Knowledge of the Irish Fleet Industry – Suppliers / Competitors / Vehicles.
- Experience responding to and winning tenders.
- IT literacy – MS Word / PowerPoint / Excel / Teams / Salesforce.
- Highly Motivated / Target Driven.
- Candidate must be proactive in what they do.
- Clear & Confident Communicator.
- Outgoing personality – required for networking.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced & demanding role.
- This role is designated as a CF-4 under the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness and Probity Regime, as defined in the Central Bank Reform Act 2010. The successful candidate must meet the standards of competence, integrity, and financial soundness required by the CBI and will be subject to ongoing due diligence and compliance assessments.
- This is an MCC impacted role and the minimum competency required is APA Loans & Regulations. APA/QFA qualification is a distinct advantage, however not a requirement, but at minimum the successful candidate must be prepared to undertake and pass the APA exams upon appointment and maintain up-to-date CPD requirements.
