M&M Qualtech are now seeking a skilled and motivated Equipment Maintenance Technician with strong electrical and mechanical aptitude to support the preventative maintenance and continuous improvement of our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have experience troubleshooting AC and DC power systems, along with a solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles, PLCs and Servo Drive systems.
This role will support the installation, commissioning, calibration, and validation of equipment, as well as perform planned, predictive, and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime and maintain product quality.
This is a full-time permanent day shift role. The hours of work are 08:00am to 16:25pm Monday to Thursday & 08:00am to 15:00 on Fridays.
Responsibilities:
- Perform planned, predictive, and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of production and facility equipment.
- Perform Internal Calibrations on equipment.
- Document maintenance and calibration activities in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Interpret technical drawings and schematics to diagnose and repair equipment issues.
- Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC power systems, PLC, servo drive systems and compressed air issues.
- Assist in developing and improving preventive maintenance programs.
- Identify and report any equipment concerns or issues.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to implement equipment modifications and process improvements.
- Support the installation, commissioning (IQ/OQ/PQ), and calibration of new and existing equipment.
- Support and apply Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical support and training to other technicians and production operators as required.
- Provide support as required and liaise with on-site customers in courteous and timely manner.
- Manage and maintain company resources effectively and efficiently.
- Responsibility for determining appropriate stock levels for equipment spare parts and maintaining inventory to prevent shortages, reduce downtime, and optimize maintenance efficiency.
- Audit Support, location, and maintenance of records (e.g., NSAI, ISO, Client, Q Pulse, PEMAC )
- Maintain a safe working environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
- Flexibility to perform additional tasks as needed, under the direction of a maintenance manager.
- Establish and maintain proactive communication with external equipment suppliers to ensure timely support and resolution during equipment breakdowns, minimizing operational downtime.
- Contribute to effective shift handover communication by reporting and documenting issues impacting Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), ensuring continuity and informed decision-making.
Essential Requirements
- A working knowledge of PLCs, Motor drives and pneumatic components.
- Strong electromechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with industrial machinery.
- Adaptability and continuous learning mindset.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and personal interaction skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
- A commitment to product quality.
- Must be over 18 years old.
- Appointment to a role is subject to the candidate’s eligibility to work full time hours in Ireland.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with excellent attention to detail and high standards of work is necessary to provide a seamless service to our internal teams.
- An Electrical Qualification would be advantageous.
- Proficient in standard PC software packages, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with strong skills in data analysis and report writing.

Education/Experience
- NFQ Level 6 degree or trades equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in industrial or manufacturing.
