We are currently hiring for a Food Prep Room Operative. The successful candidate will be a careful, reliable and detail-focused operative with a strong commitment to food safety, allergen controls and hygiene. Comfortable following recipe cards, weighing accurately, completing records correctly, and working as part of a busy cookroom team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lift, weigh and prepare ingredients accurately according to Team Lead instructions, using recipe cards and in line with the daily production plan.
- Build batches in the correct containers, label/identify as required, and transfer to the cookroom on time.
- Maintain traceability by recording ingredient/batch details and quantities on production records.
- Support chefs in the cookroom with preparation, set-up and general assistance as required.
- Wash and store containers, utensils and equipment used in prep; follow cleaning schedules and complete cleaning records.
- Keep the prep area clean, tidy and organised (clean-as-you-go; report damage, shortages or issues promptly).
- Follow Ballymaloe Foods health & safety, food safety, quality and allergen procedures; wear required PPE.
- May be required at times to work in other areas including the packing room and warehouse.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Food safety training is an advantage (training can be provided).
- Experience in food production/kitchen environments, weighing, batching, or similar operative work is an advantage.
- Ability to drive a forklift and forklift licence are an advantage
Skills and Abilities:
- Accurate weighing and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow recipe cards/procedures and complete records correctly.
- Good hygiene awareness, including allergen and cross-contamination controls.
- Teamwork and communication in a fast-paced environment.
- Manual handling capability to lift medium to heavy weights repetitively throughout the day.
- May be required to work outside normal hours due to production demands.
