CAD Technician
Abrel is a global Engineering company with a worldwide network of customers based in Limerick. We are at the forefront of upcoming technology manufacturing Burn-in Boards for reliability testing of Semiconductors, Endzone Burn-in Systems, Bibtest55XL board testers and Socket test probes. Abrel prides itself in performance, innovation and excellence and we now have an vacancy for the role of CAD Technician, reporting to the R&D/Engineering Director. The role is fulltime (39 hr per week), Monday to Friday with flexible start and finish times. Salary offered with be dependent on experience.
Responsibilities
- Support Abrel's achievement of the overall strategic direction and objectives of the company and specifically those within the CAD and Engineering Teams.
- Provide Technical support to Production team.
- Responsible for quality of work to ensure all tasks are planned, implemented properly, are free of defects and produced on time.
- Liaise collaboratively with all the necessary internal and external functions and key stakeholders to obtain appropriate information and data to ensure that customer expectations are achieved.
- Understand customer requirements, instructions and specifications and transfer to CAD/Design, including schematic entry, component selection and outline generation.
- Component selection; selection of appropriate components for the burn-in applications.
- Generating and updating internal Company ERP system accordingly throughout process
- Generate Loading diagram and Pick & Place programs for Production – Ensuring both are completed prior to assembly starting
- Generating Abrel BOM’s (Bill of Materials) from customer supplied BOM
- Participate in resolving customer/engineering and management project issues
- Initiate, recommend, investigate, trouble-shoot and provide solutions and actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to engineering projects and processes
- Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement
- Recommend and implement assigned corrective/preventive action plans and support Customer Complaints Investigation, Root Cause Analysis and Associated Corrective / Preventative Action Plans in a timely manner as required
- Perform duties in a compliant manner and behave in accordance with Abrel's QMS requirements.
- Perform other adhoc duties as required.
Qualifications/Skills
Basic Degree in Electronic Engineering/CAD Qualification or equivalent with 3-4 years’ experience in a CAD Technician’s Role preferably within the electronic environment
Knowledge of ECAD software
Very detail oriented with strong organisational skills
Good time management skills with proven ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability with high accuracy
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships and proactively contributes to the team
Customer focused
Ability to work in teams or on own initiative
