Sillis Green Veg is currently seeking a highly organised, motivated, and detail-oriented Stock Controller to join our growing team.
This is a key role within the business and will involve responsibility for stock ordering, stock replenishment, traceability, supplier communication, stock rotation, and ensuring all stock paperwork and records are accurate and up to date.
The successful candidate will work closely with Intake, Production, Dispatch, and Quality teams to ensure stock is controlled efficiently throughout the factory.
Main Responsibilities
- Managing and controlling stock throughout the factory
- Monitoring stock levels and placing orders with suppliers
- Speaking with suppliers daily regarding deliveries, stock availability, and shortages
- Ensuring correct stock rotation (FIFO)
- Maintaining accurate stock records, traceability documentation, and intake paperwork
- Working closely with the Intake Department to ensure stock figures and movements are accurate
- Carrying out stock counts and investigating discrepancies
- Ensuring all products are correctly labelled and stored
- Maintaining clean, tidy, and organised stock areas
- Supporting stock replenishment throughout the factory
- Assisting in the development of improved stock control systems and procedures
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Very strong computer skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
- Confidence communicating with suppliers and different departments
- A proactive and solution-focused attitude
- Experience in stock control, warehouse operations, food production, purchasing, or a similar environment would be an advantage but training will be provided.
Working Hours
- This is a full-time position based on a 40-hour working week, excluding breaks.
- Working hours will vary slightly depending on operational requirements.
- Flexibility will be required to support the day-to-day needs of the business.
