Minimum 3 year' of previous welding experience required. Welding certification preferred but not essential. There is no minimum academic requirements. Further training will be provided on-the-job as required. Candidates must be able to mig weld, perform fillet welds and read drawings.
General duties/Responsibilities/Experience:
To operate welding equipment in order to join metalwork pieces together.
To use fusion welding processes based on various techniques and materials
To perform simple visual inspection of welds
To perform fillet welds, mig welding and to read drawings.
To wear appropriate protective gear and adhere to safety standards.
To smooth burred surfaces and recognise metal inperfections
This role requires knowledge of welding techniques, torch temperature for metal processes, meal thermal conductivity and fuel gas
Essential knowledge includes welding from drawings (2D and 3D), mig welding and fillet welds.
Essential skills include aligning components, joining metals and operating welding equipment including oxy-fuel torch.

Candidates must be competent to apply arc welding techniques and precision metalworking techniques
Candidates must be competent to ensure correct metal temperature and handle fuels
Candidates must have experience in recognising signs of corrosion and removing inadequate workpieces.
Candidates must have experience in performing metal active gas welding and inert gas welding
welding certification advantage but not essential
Candidates must have 3 years; of relevant experience as a Welder.
