Fundraising Executive
Barretstown is a charity based in Ballymore Eustace, County Kildare, serving children affected by cancer and other serious illnesses through residential camps and outreach programmes in hospitals, schools and communities across Ireland.
Since its foundation in 1994, Barretstown has welcomed more than 150,000 campers and is Ireland's largest provider of medically endorsed therapeutic camps and programmes for children living with serious illness. Our services support the objectives of the National Cancer Strategy by addressing the psychosocial needs of children and their families.
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and results-driven Fundraising Executive to join our Fundraising Team.
Reporting to the Corporate Fundraising Manager, you will play a key role in supporting and developing Barretstown's corporate fundraising programme. You will help build and strengthen relationships with corporate partners, coordinate corporate engagement opportunities, support fundraising campaigns and events, and contribute to achieving fundraising targets that enable Barretstown to continue delivering life-changing programmes.
Based at our campus in Ballymore Eustace, Co. Kildare, you will experience first-hand the impact of your work while helping us "Press Play on Childhood" for children living with serious illness.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Corporate Fundraising Manager in delivering Barretstown's corporate fundraising strategy.
- Coordinate and host corporate volunteer days, team-building events and site hire activities.
- Build, manage and nurture relationships with existing corporate partners, ensuring excellent donor stewardship.
- Identify opportunities to re-engage previous supporters and develop new corporate fundraising opportunities.
- Respond promptly to enquiries from corporate supporters and provide exceptional relationship management.
- Support the planning and delivery of fundraising campaigns and events throughout the year to maximise income generation.
- Assist in achieving fundraising targets and contribute to the overall objectives of the Fundraising Team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on the fundraising database (CRM) and prepare reports as required.
- Represent Barretstown professionally at meetings, presentations and networking events, acting as an ambassador for the organisation.
- Ensure all fundraising activities comply with Barretstown policies, procedures and fundraising best practice.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to deliver an excellent experience for supporters and visitors.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- A third-level qualification or equivalent experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, business development, event management or a related discipline.
- Experience coordinating events and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong relationship management and customer service skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the confidence to present to groups.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
- Good financial awareness and experience working towards income or budget targets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- A genuine passion for Barretstown's mission and a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children living with serious illness.
