Background:
Student accommodation in Cork, managed by Mezzino Student Living we are looking for a Building Maintenance Manager.
Main responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the General Manager and company Facilities Manager, this is a very hands-on role for an all-round 'handy person'. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the overall safety, presentation and good repair of the premises and all residents during their working hours.
Duties will include:
- Providing General Maintenance within the building and its grounds
- To notify the General Manager should a maintenance problem require further attention and/or external contractors
- Ensure that a safe and secure environment for residents, staff and visitors is maintained;
- Undertake and complete weekly/monthly compliance tasks and record the results on our online system
- Ensuring that all resident requests are dealt with in a professional and efficient manner
- Ensuring the public areas are kept clean & tidy
- Undertaking all tasks allocated by the General Manager, the front desk team and company Facilities manager
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a maintenance department or working as a general handyperson
- High personal standards
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent customer service skills, and the ability to communicate with both co-workers and our (mostly) young adult customers in a professional manner
- Knowledge of maintenance trade(s) (e.g. basic carpentry, plumbing, electrics, painting) would be essential
- Flexibility to work weekends / extra hours as needed
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: €28,000.00-€33,000.00 per year
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Cork, County Cork: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
