The Role:
- To assist in the production of sterilized medical devices for use in all clinical and other areas designated by the hospital.

Collecting used items (where alternative arrangements are in place these will continue to apply as appropriate).

Cleaning of trolleys and storage shelves,
- Operating a steam auto clave and all other equipment in the department.

Packing and making up of requisite packs for theatres, wards and departments.

Cleaning, decontamination, washer/disinfector and inspection of instruments.

Packaging, correct labeling and sterilizing of instruments.
- Stocking shelves of sterile supplies.
- Maintenance of records where appropriate in line with departmental policy.

Decontamination of used devices using mechanical and manual methods. Inspection and function testing of devices. Any discrepancies of faults to be reported to be reported immediately to Supervisor.

Handling and storage of raw material components.

Compliance with Health & Safety procedures and observance of requirements for personal hygiene and Hospital Infection Control.
The Candidate:
- Previous experience in a similar role - highly desirable

Excellent communication skills, ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Good organizational skills

Flexibility in work practices
